Each school, class, or clique has an iPod that everyone wants to listen to. This is the iPod with all the best music on it.
Get an iPod.
Figure out what kind of music is popular in your group. See what people are listening to. Find the most popular radio stations. Ask people what their favorite songs are.
Start buying that music or copying CDs with it. If your group is into mainstream music, iTunes has lists of the songs which are purchased more often. Listen to radio countdowns. XM Satellite radio has one on all the time.
Make a choice regarding whether or not you want to download the music others like or only the music you like. The second may prevent your iPod from reaching popularity.
Get some music that people don't know very well. If that means having a few songs from another genre or unknown artist, try it! Some common choices could be show-tunes, older music, indie labels, or simply a different artist.
Add podcasts. If you want to, put on a few comedy routines. Podcasts are great for this. Try things like NPR's "Wait, Wait, Don't tell me".
Keep updating your music. Popular music can change fast. Keep getting new songs.
Offer to share your iPod with your classmates. Soon people will recognize that your iPod rocks and will start asking to borrow it.
Tips
- A newer iPod model is better as it is considered cool. Also, one with a large amount of disk space will mean that you can download more music.

Warnings
