Use your common sense. In this way, you can get the hottest gadget on the market, whatever it may be. When Buying the "Hottest gadget", make sure, that "this is what i want". Acknowledge what you are going to do with it, play games, watch movies, listen to music?
Having the best thing in the market isnt always a must, wait a month or a couple weeks for the price to drop. Take the Ps2 for example... the usuall price nowadays at gamestop is 89 or 99 dollers. Didnt it use to be like 250? If you absolutely need it, then go ahead and get it.
Heres how.
Get your phonebook. Find all you local electronic/hardware dealers that are close to you. Get a piece of paper, and write the address, phone number, everything.
Call each store and find out when they open and close. Record these on your piece of paper. Also, ask when they are going to get the item. Call every store close to you.
Cross the stores off the list that say "We only are taking pre-orders." The rest of the stores are open for business.
Call each store every day and ask if they are getting the items in, or if they currently have them.
Prepare to wait. If a store is getting a shipment the next day, you're going to have to wait at least 8+ hours in line outside the store. When camping, you will need chairs, blankets, a book, a booklight, PSP, Nintendo DS, or anything else portable. And don't forget your money.
When the store opens, walk inside, get your item. And buy it. Go home, and play some games.
Tips
- When calling stores, don't act mean and groggy. Try to be nice about it. If they say they aren't getting any shipments, reply, " Oh, Ok. I'll try back again tomorrow. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it."
- Wait in line at least more than 5 hours.
- Bring a cell phone when waiting in line so you can call up some friends and see if they will come entertain you.
- Be patient.
Warnings
- Avoid buying off of eBay unless you're absolutely certain of what you're doing as it's likely that most casual users will get ripped off on this sort of item.
- Try not to act mean or tough in line. There have been some robberies, and people might get nervous.
