The Autobots and Decepticons are back as Transformers: Forged to Fight has soft-launched for both iOS and Android. Help Optimus Prime fight corrupted Transformers one on one to save them from their ruthless overlords, and have them join your cause, regardless of which side they're on. Collect, control, and level up unique robots from the entire Transformers universe, including the classic TV animated series, movies, comics, and toys.
The new game features intuitive touch controls that let you unleash devastating combos to smash through any foe that gets in your way. Each robot can transform into their unique alt-mode to deal massive damage that can't be blocked by their opponent. The game even has a base building element that lets you collect and gather precious resources needed to upgrade your robots.
UPDATE: This game just went live for everyone in the iOS App Store and on Google Play, so there's no need to install a VPN of anything anymore.
Kabam, the brains behind Transformers: Forged to Fight, has soft-launched the game in Sweden, Denmark, and Canada. While technically available for both Android and iOS, regular users can't download and play the game unless they live in those countries. But don't let this limited release stop you, because there are ways to play the game even if you don't live in those countries. Read further to find out how.
Install a VPN Before Downloading the Game
Before you can install the game, you'll need to set up a VPN on your phone or tablet. This is because Transformers: Forged to Fight will check your network location to verify that you're from one of the countries where the game has been soft-launched, which means that you'll need to spoof this location data.
The easiest way to do that would be to install Opera VPN, which is available for free on both iOS and Android. Once you've got the app installed, simply open it and follow the prompts to enable the VPN service, then set your country to Canada. For more information on using Opera's VPN service, check out our full guide below.
It's completely safe to download and install Transformers: Forged to Fight with the VPN disabled, as it's not needed for installing. However, you will need to turn on the VPN and set your country to Canada before you open the game, and keep the VPN service enabled at all times while you're actively playing.
Install the Game on Android
Before we begin, note that the new Transformers game will run on virtually any midrange or flagship Android device made within the past three years, as long as it's running Android 4.4 or higher.
Aside from that, installing the game on Android is pretty straightforward. First, make sure "Unknown sources" is enabled in Settings, then grab the APK installer file from the following link. From there, just tap the Download complete notification, then press "Install" when prompted, and you'll be ready to try it out.
Install the Game on iOS
Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch running iOS 9 or higher will support Transformers: Forged to Fight, but to install the game, you'll need to bypass the App Store's region restrictions. To do this, you'll need to create an Apple ID with an address based in either Canada, Denmark, or Sweden, as these are the countries where the game is officially available.
However, note that your Apple ID's country of origin will need to match the country you selected in your VPN app. In other words, if your VPN is set to Canada as we recommended above, you should also use a Canadian Apple ID.
Creating an Apple ID is easy to do, and involves signing up with a valid email account and using a realistic home address for the country you're spoofing. But if you want a more thorough guide, just head to the following link for detailed instructions.
Once you've set that up, you'll be able to download and install Transformers: Forged to Fight just like any other app or game. So to wrap things up, search for the game on the App Store, or just head to the following link to grab it—but, of course, make sure you're using the same device where you did the region-unlocking trick.
Please note that Transformers: Forged to Fight is still far from a finished product, so users may experience a few bugs here and there. However, we tested the game on an iPhone 6 and iPad Pro running iOS 10.3 and 10.2, respectively, and a Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro running Android Marshmallow, and found that it worked quite well with no noticeable issues.
