How to Convince Your Parents to Let You Get an iPod or MP3 Pl

If you truly want something, you have to work toward it! Maybe your parents hate iPod or just don't want to spend alot of money on one. Here are a few tricks to get them to buy you an iPod.

Drop subtle hints around your parents, or other relatives, before your birthday or a holiday during which you receive presents.

Mention how much you like, not want, an iPod (mp3, etc.). "Those are so cool!"

Leave up a web page on the family computer of the least expensive iPod out there. If they ask, pretend you did it by accident.

Shop around. Go to a used electronics store and see if there are some in good condition. Do your homework! Look at different deals online and in stores and pick which one would be best for you, your needs, and your music library size. Don't necessarily go for the most expensive or cheapest option! The more you know about what you're buying, the better, especially since it's a "new technology" in your parents' eyes. Impress them with how much you've planned!

Also consider buying or exchanging with a friend. Talk to your friend who's going to get the newest iPod for their birthday and see what's going to happen to the old one. (But definitely be sure to tell BOTH parents before doing business with a friend!)

Be responsible; do your chores, do your homework, get good grades, and be polite.

Try doing extra chores for money from your parents. Once you've raised half the amount ask if they will pay the other half.

Thank your parents if they ever do get you an iPod. Let them know you appreciate their gift!
