Aug 12, 2009 05:40 PM

iTunes is a great tool for getting music onto your iPod, but if you don't know how, it can be frustrating. This article should help you get your music onto your iPod.

1

First of all, be sure you have iTunes and an iTunes account on your computer. (obviously)

2

Now, you must obtain an iTunes card. They sell these at all kinds of stores, like Wal-Mart, Target, you name it! Just look in the gift certificate part or in Target, by the candy bars near the cash register. They are usually colorful and easy to find.

3

When you get home, start up your computer and use a coin to scratch the back of the card where is says, "Scratch gently with coin." After, you should see a code of random numbers and letters.

4. When you computer is ready, boot up iTunes.

5

When iTunes is loaded, click on the iTunes Store, found on the left side of the page under the bold word STORE.

6

It will take you to "Home." On the right side of the page, you should see QUICK LINKS. Under this should be a list of things. Click REDEEM.

7

Enter the code of random letters and numbers found on the iTunes card, then click Redeem.

8

It should then say that you have successfully redeemed the amount of money stated on your iTunes card.

9

Now you are ready for purchasing music. You can search your music in the top right corner where there is a magnifying glass, or you can explore Home to find something you like.

10

When you find something you would like, click the BUY SONG button to the right of the song title.

11

It might ask you if you are sure you would like to purchase the song. It may also ask you for your password. This is not unusual.

12

If you had clicked that you were sure that you wanted to purchase the song, you should see DOWNLOADS and the number of songs you purchased right by it. This would be located under PURCHASED, which is also under ITUNES STORE.

13

After you have done all of your shopping, you must wait for everything to download properly. After the word DOWNLOAD has disappeared, you can load the music to your iPod.

14

You must then hook your iPod to the computer. There is a white cord that is very useful and comes with the iPod that you will probably use. When the iPod is hooked up correctly, your computer may make a certain noise and your iPod will say Connected.

15

Wait for you iPod to load to iTunes. You will see it listed underneath the STORE section.

16

Now, go to the library, which is at the top of the left section.

17

Click on a song you would like on your iPod and drag it to where your iPod name is listed.

18

If the song loads, up top you will see a loading bar promptly appear and load the song within a few seconds.

19. Continue uploading all the songs onto your iPod.

20

After you are finished, disconnect the iPod and check all the songs are loaded. Have fun!
